The Pay It Forward Fund is here to help families facing unexpected hardship — not to replace financial planning or routine medical care. Our goal is to assist as many families as possible while being good stewards of the generosity of our donors.

How the fund works

A straightforward process — no lengthy paperwork, no judgment.

Step 01

Call us first

Reach out by phone before your appointment to see if funds are available. We’ll have a brief, private conversation about your situation and what care your pet needs.

Step 02

We review together

There's no formal application form. We talk through the circumstances and determine whether the fund can help cover part or all of the visit.

Step 03

Your pet gets care

If approved, we schedule your appointment and apply the fund assistance directly — you focus on your pet, not the bill.

If your pet needs care and cost is a barrier right now, please call us. We won’t make you feel embarrassed for asking — that’s exactly what this fund is here for.

To be considered for assistance
  • Your pet must be examined by our veterinarian
  • The condition must be treatable with a reasonable chance for recovery and a good quality of life
  • You must be willing to participate in your pet’s care and follow up on treatment recommendations
  • Funds are limited and cannot be guaranteed
Priority is given to
  • Emergency or urgent medical conditions
  • Pets with a good prognosis if treatment is provided
  • Owners who have exhausted all other reasonable payment options
  • Cases where a relatively modest contribution can make treatment possible
Funds may be used for
  • Emergency examinations and diagnostics
  • Surgery
  • Pain management
Funds are not used for
  • Routine wellness or elective procedures
  • Breeding-related expenses
  • Long-term maintenance medications
  • Cases with a poor prognosis
Owner responsibilities
  • Follow the treatment plan and attend all recommended rechecks
  • Contribute financially to the extent possible — funds used are expected to be repaid into the fund so another pet can be helped

This is not a free service. Funding may be partial or full, and recipients are expected to repay the fund over time so it remains available to help the next pet in need.
